My field is Numerical Analysis/Numerical Linear Algebra. I have been mainly investigating iterative methods for solving partial differential equations. Emphasis is put on both analytical and practical aspects of pointwise and blockwise (linewise and planewise) incomplete factorization based preconditioning techniques. This includes their implementations on multiprocessor computers. Specific interests also include algebraic multigrid and/or multilevel methods, domain decomposition methods and iterative methods for eigenvalue problems.

Recently I have been involved in research on preconditioning techniques for solving complex-symmetric indefinite linear systems that arise from finite element discretizations of vibro-acoustics wave propagation simulation industrial problems. At the present time, I am mainly working on Monte-Carlo simulation techniques for the risk assessment of radioactive waste repositories.
